Infusion Center

CJOC is currently an infusion center for Orencia, Reclast and Tysabri. These medications, which are not oncology or hematology-related, are given intravenously. This service is available not only for our established patients, but for anyone outside of our practice in need of these infusions.

Orencia® is a prescription medicine that reduces signs and symptoms in adults with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA), including those who have not been helped enough by other medicines for RA. Orencia may prevent further damage to your bones and joints, and may help your ability to perform daily activities. If your physician or rheumatologist recommends Orencia, you may receive this intravenous influsion at our office.

Reclast® is an FDA approved drug for the treatment of Osteoporosis in men and postmenopausal women; Paget’s Disease in men and women; Osteopenia; and drug-induced bone loss. Osteoporosis causes your bones to break down faster than they are rebuilt. As a result of the bones thinning, they become weak. Paget’s Disease results in bone breaking down and the new bone made being abnormal. Consequently, the bones become deformed and weaker than normal. The FDA has also recently approved Reclast for the treatment of Osteopenia (mild bone loss) and drug-induced bone loss.  Just one intravenous dose a year will help strengthen the bones and to help provide protection for a full year. Reclast is generally covered by Medicare and most other health plans; however certain insurers do not yet pay for Reclast for the treatment of Osteopenia and drug-induced bone loss.  In advance of your appointment, CJOC will verify your insurance benefits and determine if prior authorization, precertification and a co-payment is required.

Tysabri is a prescription medicine for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients that slows disease progression and decreases flare-ups. It is also used to treat Crohn's Disease. Patients must enroll through their neurologist in the "TOUCH®" prescribing program, a restricted distribution program. Upon the receipt of information and approval for infusion from the TOUCH® program, CJOC will contact the patient to schedule an appointment for infusion. Insurance coverage will be verified through the TOUCH program.
