James C. Salwitz, MD
James C. Salwitz, MD earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed his internship and residency at the McGraw Medical Center of Northwestern University in Chicago, where he earned the title of Chief Resident. He completed his Oncology Fellowship at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD and joined Central Jersey Oncology Center in 1987. Dr. Salwitz is a Clinical Professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he was recognized as the Alpha Omega Alpha Outstanding Volunteer Faculty of the Year in 1999. He lectures frequently in the community on topics related to Hospice and Palliative Care. He has received numerous honors and awards, including the Physicians Leadership Award in Palliative Care, which he received from the New Jersey Palliative Care Organization. Dr. Salwitz is a past President of the American Cancer Society. He is certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine; and by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
